AGA debuts RG-IES with free availability

The RG-IES is designed to allow stakeholders and industry members to evaluate responsible gaming messages.
The American Gaming Association (AGA) has released its Responsible Gaming Intervention Effectiveness Scale (RG-IES) in connection with this month’s Responsible Gaming Education Month.
The scale was developed by Dr. Jonathan Ross Gilbert and Dr. Marla Stafford and is available for use at no cost.
The RG-IES is designed to allow stakeholders and industry members to evaluate responsible gaming messages.
Through this tool, members can examine academic research to determine the impact of certain responsible gaming messages and their effectiveness.
The AGA briefly discussed the new release and said took a moment to thank those who made contributions to the project’s development.
The Association said, “We are grateful to the researchers who led this important project and look forward to seeing how this new scale helps bolster industry responsibility messaging campaigns. We are proud to support this independently developed scale, and we want to thank AGA members Bally’s, FanDuel and BetMGM for providing access to players to help with the creation of the RG-IES.
“Promoting responsible play is a core value of the US gaming industry, and it is our mission to ensure responsible gaming messages resonate with players and achieve their intended impact.”
Along with this new tool, the AGA recently published its legal wagering estimate for this year’s NFL season.
The AGA projects that American adults will place $35bn in legal bets with sportsbooks during football season, more than any other year.
Estimates are based on previous research the AGA conducted during last year’s NFL season. American sports fans bet close to $26.7bn on football in 2023, according to data collected.
