Michigan iGaming, sports wagering operators post $220.9m in July revenue
Revenue for the month rose when compared to results from June.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board has published its online gaming and sports betting results for the month of July.
The Great Lake State posted $220.9m in gross gaming receipts (GGR) from iGaming and sports wagering for the month, up by 3.2% when compared to results from June.
Last month, Michigan’s iGaming gross receipts reached $191.4m, while sports wagering reported $29.4m in gross sports betting receipts. While iGaming reported a nearly $8m increase month-to-month, sports betting posted a decrease of close to $1m when compared to June’s total.
Michigan’s internet sports betting handle in July fell by 9.6% when compared to June’s results. July’s total internet sports wagering handle reached $250.2m.
The state posted iGaming and internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts (AGR) that totaled $189.5m last month. In a breakdown of the monthly total, iGaming contributed $172.3m, and internet sports betting brought in another $17.2m.
July iGaming and internet sports betting AGR rose by 24.7% and 5.2% year-over-year respectively.
During the month of July, operators around the state reported that they submitted $37.1m in state taxes. iGaming contributed $36m in taxes and fees, while internet sports betting chipped in another $1.1m.
Tribal operators paid governing bodies close to $4.5m in payments last month.
In related news, the Michigan Gaming Control Board recently posted its July results for the state’s three Detroit casinos. During the month, all three locations reported $105.9m in combined revenue.
MGM was the only casino last month to report an increase in July monthly gaming revenue. The casino’s total revenue reached nearly $51.3m last month.
