Leadstar Media obtains affiliate license in Pennsylvania

Swedish company now operates in five American states.

Lead generation provider Leadstar Media on Monday said it has expanded its presence in the US after obtaining an affiliate license in Pennsylvania, its third license in the country.

The Stockholm-based company said its new license will allow it to display and market licensed online sportsbooks and casinos in the Keystone State.

Leadstar’s two main products are Unitedgamblers.com, which it said targets both betting and casino enthusiasts, and Bettingscanner.com, which compares sportsbooks.

Leadstar noted Pennsylvania is the second-largest state for regulated online gambling in the US and, strategically, it is an important market for the company. Leadstar Media previously obtained licenses in New Jersey and Indiana, and is permitted to operate in Illinois and Iowa through partnerships.

“Pennsylvania has an attractive iGaming market, which allows us to market both online sportsbooks and casinos,” the company said in a statement. “In addition, players can register accounts online as opposed to a physical location, an imperative part of our business model.”

Pennsylvania sits second only to New Jersey for gambling revenue and has “showcased great growth” since gambling launched last year, said Eskil Kvarnström, CEO of Leadstar Media. “It goes without saying that we are pleased to have been granted access to the Keystone State.”

Kvarnström said success in Pennsylvania is a must for companies that aspire to be a top affiliate in the US, and added the company has high ambitions.

He noted the state has 10 licensed online sportsbooks and 12 online casinos, including big names such as FanDuel and DraftKings, which show the strength of the market. “We look forward to partnering with these operators and further increasing our presence in America.”
