BetMGM has launched its sports betting app in Pennsylvania weeks after establishing its online casino in the state.

“The response to BetMGM Casino in Pennsylvania has been incredible and we're thrilled to bring our best-in-class sports betting offering to the Keystone State,” said Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO. “Pennsylvania is known for its legendary sports fans and we look forward to sharing the excitement of BetMGM with them.”

BetMGM received a Pennsylvania sports betting license in October through a partnership with Penn National’s Hollywood Casino. The company debuted its iGaming option in Pennsylvania on 4 December.

BetMGM’s app is now available in seven markets, joining West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana and Tennessee. The company is a joint venture between MGM Resorts and Entain.

BetMGM partnered last month with the Pittsburgh Steelers in a deal that includes in-stadium promotions and signage and digital marketing assets.

Pennsylvania sportsbooks earned revenue of $48.5m in November with handle reaching $492m.

BetMGM has a lot of ground to cover to catch state leaders FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook, which combined for $293m of the state’s handle last month.

Penn National’s Barstool Sportsbook held steady at third place with $58m of handle.
