Rose's career began in Stateline, Nevada, and has included leadership roles in food and beverage, marketing and as a GM in both Nevada and Colorado.

Century Casinos has announced the appointment of Eric Rose as the new SVP and GM at the Nugget Casino Resort, succeeding the former GM who departed the company recently. Rose has worked in the gaming industry for 32 years, most recently serving as VP of Operations in Colorado and GM of Century Casino Cripple Creek.

“We encountered a challenging first half of the year at the Nugget with lower-than-expected revenue,” Century Casinos Co-CEO Peter Hoetzinger said.

“The Nugget has undergone right-sizing and cost-cutting initiatives. The property has also been further upgraded with investments in more than 120 new slot machines, a high-limit room, refreshes of two restaurants, a repaint of the exterior, exterior and interior signage and display packages. With the appointment of Eric Rose to the top leadership role, we are finalizing the transition, setting the Nugget up for future success.”

Rose’s career began in Stateline, Nevada, and has included leadership roles in food and beverage, marketing and as a GM in both Nevada and Colorado. He also played an important role in the company’s acquisition of three properties from Caesars in 2019.

The company saw a 55% decrease year-over-year in operational earnings during the first quarter of 2024. It also reported an 18% decrease in adjusted EBITDAR year-over-year, explaining the new initiatives stated by Hoetzinger.

“We anticipated a challenging first quarter due to continuing construction disruptions and the closure of three of our casinos in Poland for some or all of the quarter.  The quarter was further impacted by disruptions from severe weather at the majority of our US casinos,” Hoetzinger said in the company’s first quarter statement.

“Our positive outlook for the second half of 2024 into 2025 remains unchanged. Our increased spend on capital projects throughout our properties is expected to end over the summer.”
