The company has partnered with DC United.

DraftKings has fixed its gaze on Washington DC as the next place to launch its sportsbook. The operator said the pending launch follows a successful market access agreement involving DC United.

DraftKings’ upcoming sportsbook debut in DC will bring its total of North American jurisdictions to 29.

DraftKings North America President Matt Kalish said the operator is eager to continue expanding throughout the US.

He commented, “It has been incredible to see legalized sports betting grow rapidly over the past six years, and with plans to launch our online sportsbook in DC, DraftKings looks forward to expanding its presence in more than half the country.”

He went on to acknowledge and commend those working with DraftKings to bring additional sports betting options to DC players.

He said, “We would like to thank the DC Council for creating a path to bring DraftKings’ top-rated sportsbook to the nation’s capital. Together with DC United, we look forward to delivering fans a best-in-class experience through our customer-friendly product.”

DC United President of Business Operations Danita Johnson described DraftKings as the ideal partner for the company’s plan to expand in the DC area.

She said, “With the DC Council’s recent decision to expand the world of sports betting in DC, we look forward to working with DraftKings to introduce their online sportsbook as another way for DC residents to bet in the city.

“Our goal is to always make every fan experience seamless, and this platform will help us to deliver on that promise.”

With its upcoming entrance into DC, DraftKings said it will continue to encourage and support responsible gaming practices.
