Maryland regulator issues mobile sports betting license to VSC and Bee-Fee

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) has granted the Veterans Services Corporation (VSC) and its operator partner Bee-Fee a mobile sports betting license.
VSC and Bee-Fee recently completed a controlled demo of their mobile betting app, along with the LetsBetMD domain.
During the demonstration, Maryland players had the chance to engage in live wagering. Staff from Maryland Lottery and Gaming observed to make sure “the sportsbook complied with all required procedures and that its systems functioned properly.”
Along with the approval, VSC and Bee-Fee’s LetsBetMD is now live for players statewide.
This addition brings Maryland’s sportsbook count to 12 mobile sportsbooks as well as 12 retail locations.
Retail sports betting has been legal in the state of Maryland since 2021. The state opened its online sports wagering market in 2022.
In related news, Maryland’s Long Shot’s OTB and Betfred recently decided to end their business relationship. The two have reached “a mutual agreement for parting of ways,” according to a recent Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission meeting.
Betfred’s retail sports wagering operations around the state closed on June 30. However, mobile options are scheduled to wrap up on July 31.
Long Shot’s first began its partnership with Betfred nearly two years ago.
The state of Maryland said is looking to add three new operators to its lineup, according to agenda items discussed during a recent meeting.
Long Shot’s is located in Fredrick County and claims to be the first female-owned business in the state to welcome a sportsbook.
