If regulators approve, operations will commence in Q2 2021

Colorado Springs-based Century Casinos, Inc., on Friday said it has partnered with Rush Street Interactive to bring Rush Street’s BetRivers.com online casino to West Virginia.

Rush Street will be Century’s second interactive gaming operator partner in West Virginia. Through a subsidiary, Century already has its master license in the Mountain State.

RSI said it will complete the necessary application and approval process with the state. Pending licensing and regulatory approvals, the two companies expect to commence operations in the second quarter of 2021.

The interactive gaming agreement is for an initial term of 10 years, with an option to extend for up to another 10 years. RSI agreed to minimum revenue guarantees and a percentage share of net gaming revenue payable to Century each month, with a signing bonus being paid on contract signing.

The two companies said West Virginians will have access to a broad range of online casino options, including hundreds of slot machines and table games. They will offer players a “multi-tiered” loyalty program.

“As RSI continues the collective expansion of our interactive gaming operations into more states, we look forward to earning the same trust and preference of West Virginians that we have earned of players across the country,” Richard Schwartz, president of Rush Street Interactive, said in a statement.

In addition to its online casinos in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Chicago-based RSI operates online sportsbooks in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. RSI is the top online casino operator by revenue in the United States year-to-date through September, according to Eilers & Krejcik Gaming.

Century Casinos owns and operates properties in Colorado, Missouri, West Virginia and Edmonton, Canada. Through a subsidiary, the company has a 66.6% ownership interest in eight casinos in Poland, and a 75% ownership interest in Century Downs Racetrack and Casino in Calgary. The company also operates four ship-based casinos.
