Michael Hartmeier joins Boyd Gaming Board of Directors
Hartmeier has more than two decades of experience in investment banking.
Boyd Gaming Corporation has named Michael Hartmeier as its latest Board of Directors member. Hartmeier takes on this role with more than 25 years of experience in the investment banking industry.
He served as the former Group Head of Lodging Gaming and Leisure Investment Banking for Barclays.
In addition to his former duties with Barclay, Hartmeier worked for both Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse First Boston as the Group Head for Hospitality and Gaming.
Hartmeier served on other boards prior to this recent appointment. He is a current board member of DiamondRock Hospitality Company’s Board of Directors. He was also on the board for regional casino operator, Full House Resorts.
In other company news, Boyd Gaming recently released renderings and plans for its latest project to renovate Suncoast Hotel & Casino.
The latest updates are part of a building plan that began last year, with the addition of a new William B’s Steakhouse and a High Limit Room on the casino floor.
Additions to Suncoast will include a new sportsbook near the casino’s east entrance, which is scheduled to open “by this coming football season.” Sports betting fans will be able to view games on large, high-resolution and wrap around LED screens.
The company also plans to build an electronic bingo room adjacent to the casino floor with easy access to the main parking garage walkway.
The casino floor at Suncoast will receive a facelift as well. The company said the new casino floor will have a “modern look and feel” with the redesign.
Boyd said plans are in the works for a 70-seat contemporary raised center bar, designed to “modernize the look and feel of the property as guests enter through the porte cochère doors.”
