Keno currently has no regulations in place in the country.

Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié has taken a public stand against allowing keno operations throughout Colombia. The President issued a statement, saying that "Keno is an illegal game and its operation is prohibited in the country."

There are no current regulations for the game in force in the country. However, Hincapié noted that a group is working on putting together some regulatory provisions that could allow the market to offer keno to Colombian players.

He explained, "Keno is an age-old Chinese game that we hope to deliver in concession later so that it can operate in the country.

“We have held several working groups to design the regulations that have already been submitted for approval by the entity's Board of Directors.”

Hincapié went on to add that the Board of Directors has already received proposed keno regulations for consideration.

He said in closing, "We have already presented the keno regulations to the Board of Directors. Currently, this game is constituted as an illegal practice, since said board determined through Agreement 06 of 2023 that it is not a modality of immediate prize and, until it is regulated and awarded, it has no legal basis to operate.”

Coljuegos serves Colombia as its regulatory body for games and luck and chance.

The organization maintains a philosophy of fostering growth within the industry through sustainable methods. Several notable sites, including Betplay, Rushbet and Codere, follow Coljuegos’ regulations.

The Management Against Illegal Operations of Coljuegos recently opened a substantial number of investigations into illegal gambling operations throughout the country.

The regulator has opened 681 administrative sanctioning processes throughout the region that involve raffle, novel, localized and promotional games 'that allegedly would be operating without a concession contract and that, therefore, would be ceasing to transfer resources for health.'
