The Hill, a Washington D.C. based political news outlet, said of the list, “In a busy and challenging year for the influence world, these are the people who wielded their clout and knowledge most effectively for their clients.”
Miller and Cylke are credited with delivering tax relief to the gaming industry as part of the CARES Act and ensuring coverage of gaming entities in the Small Business Administration’s Payment Protection Program.
The AGA, which is the premier lobbying arm of the gaming industry, delivered testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on the matter of protecting sports betting from federal intervention.
According to the AGA, Miller and Cylke have helped grow the Congressional Gaming Caucus to 35 bipartisan members from 18 states.
In June, Representatives Dana Titus (D-NV) and Guy Reschenthaler, (R-PA), co-chairs of the CGC put forward a bipartisan bill to end federal sports betting excise tax. The bill would repeal a 0.25% federal tax on most legal sports bets.
Miller joined the AGA in January of 2019 after more than 30 years working on Capital Hill. Cylke has been with the AGA since July of 2017.
