Nevada gaming reaches $1.24bn in revenue for April 2024

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has released the April gaming revenue report for the state, announcing a total revenue of $1.24bn for the entire month. The figure represents a nearly 7% increase in revenue year-over-year, with slots and blackjack leading the way for which sectors generated the most revenue for April.
Slot machines accounted for $886.8m of revenue in the state, making up approximately 71.5% of the revenue reported in April 2024. One cent and multi-denomination slots led the way for the sector, reporting $216.6m and $586.8m respectively. One cent slot games decreased in revenue by over 21% year-over-year, however, while multi-denomination games increased by over 26%. There are currently over 127,000 slot machines available in Nevada.
Blackjack’s revenue in Nevada increased 16% year-over-year to $110.2m, equating to approximately 31.2% of the total revenue table, counter and card games generated in the state. Baccarat has seen a comeback of sorts in the state, increasing by 72.5% year-over-year for a revenue figure of $76.1m, the second highest total behind blackjack. Craps and three-card poker each saw decreases of over 19% year-over-year, reporting $30.3m and $7.9m respectively.
Mobile sports betting in the state increased by over 32% from April 2023, reporting a total of $24.5m, as hockey betting actually saw the largest growth in revenue. Football betting reported a 17% increase from the comparable month, but still reported a negative revenue of $5.7m.
Bets placed for basketball decreased by just over 12% in Nevada from the comparable month, while baseball began its season at the beginning of April and increased by over 18% year-over-year.
