Global Payments joins Tipico for sports betting venture

Companies say US online bettors will see simplified funding process.

Global Payments Gaming Solutions on Tuesday said it has entered into a new partnership with Tipico, a global sportsbook operator.

The two companies said they will combine the sports betting feature from Global Payments’ iGaming solutions with Tipico’s platform to improve the experience for US-based online sports bettors.

Tipico will be investing in Global Payments’ iGaming solutions, which it said will simplify the funding process for patrons using smart devices. Global Payments said its VIP Lightspeed platform powers funding and withdrawals for online sports betting, while VIP Preferred e-check network will enable users to access funds from their checking account.

“We look forward to a prosperous partnership with Tipico in the US and helping them expand their sports betting capabilities,” Christopher Justice, president, Global Payments Gaming Solutions, said in a statement.

Allen Ambrogio, director of operations, US business at Tipico added: “Partnering with Global Payments will offer our customers in New Jersey an enhanced, seamless experience when placing bets through the Tipico app. The use of Global Payments’ iGaming solutions will help us, and we look forward to working with the team as we continue to expand our offerings in 2021 to Colorado and other states.”

Tipico is a US sportsbook originally founded in Europe in 2004. It is regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and has established US operations and business headquarters in Hoboken, NJ Tipico has partnered with Ocean Casino and Resort in Atlantic City for New Jersey licensing. In Colorado, Tipico will be regulated by the Colorado Division of Gaming and has partnered with Century Casinos for licensing.

Global Payments Gaming Solutions, a division of Global Payments, offers a suite of payment solutions to the gaming industry.
