Sen. Denny Hoskins and Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer are putting forward bills identical to ones they previously filed, which never saw any forward progress.
Sen. Hoskins’ bill, SB 18, would allow the Missouri Lottery Commission to authorize sports betting online and on casino boats. It proposes a $25,000 application fee and an annual license renewal fee of $50,000 for online sportsbooks with a revenue tax of 9%.
The bill also includes a 0.25% integrity fee on all college sports bets, with the revenue directed towards public universities with a NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision or NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball program.
SB 217, filed by Sen. Luetkemeyer, would authorize sports betting online and at casinos under an application fee of $10,000 and an annual license renewal fee of $5,000.
The bill would impose a 6.25% revenue tax on all sports wagering.
Previously proposed bills from Hoskins and Luetkemeyer were shelved after the Covid-19 pandemic upended the state’s legislative priorities.
Sen. Caleb Rowan is the new sponsor of a bill previously filed by Rep. Phil Christofanelli. SB 256 would legalize online and casino sports betting.
The bill suggest a $50,000 application fee and a $20,000 annual license renewal fee.
