Arizona bettors wager $637.5m in February

The Arizona Department of Gaming has published its sports betting results for February 2024. During the month, the state took in nearly $637.5m in wagers, which reflected close to 4.6% increase in activity when compared to results from one year ago.
In a breakdown of February’s handle, mobile sports betting contributed $631.2m to the state’s overall total, while retail locations brought in another close to $4.6m. Wagers placed with limited event wagering operators reached almost $1.6m during the month.
Players placed the majority of the state’s mobile bets with two operators during the month of February. Both DraftKings and FanDuel took in more than $200m in bets in February.
FanDuel emerged as February’s top operator, with mobile wagers for the month reaching $230.2m. DraftKings came in as a close second. Players placed more than $206m in online bets with DraftKings.

Arizona has welcomed legal sports betting outside of Tribal gaming for nearly three years. The state first legalized sports wagers in April 2021 after Governor Doug Ducey signed the bill into law. The state debuted its sports wagering market in September 2021.
To date, more than 35 states have embraced regulated sports betting since the US Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) in May 2018, also known as the Bradley Act.
