Coljuegos has extended its deadline for operators to implement their responsible gaming practices in Colombia. The organization has moved the deadline to August 1, through Resolution 7624 of 2024.
In an effort to increase risk group protection, Coljuegos said it is focused on strengthening its responsible gaming strategy.
Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié expounded on the objective behind the resolution.
He commented, “The responsible gaming strategy is made up of two stages: first, implementation, which is in charge of the operators and includes self-control mechanisms for the players; and second, monitoring, through which the results of the program are evaluated.”
He went on to add that Coljuegos has collaborated with operators throughout the region to meet the deadline.
He said in closing, “We have been working hand in hand with the operators with the intention of establishing guidelines and management indicators for the creation and implementation of good practices manuals for responsible gaming.
“We are also working on building a support network for those potentially affected. To this end, we have approached organizations and institutions that provide mental health services to help us care for those who present symptoms of uncontrolled gambling.”
Colombian players recently gained access to more than 40 live games through WPlay’s site because of a partnership between international iGaming provider Amusnet and WPlay.
Through this collaboration, the duo expects to grow that number to 70 during the next month. Amusnet said it expects to have 100 live games available for players by the end of the year.
