IGT and Acres have come together on an agreement to resolve all legal disputes between the two companies which previously existed.
The resolution between the pair was reached in the United States District Court of Nevada, “directed to United States patents that pertain to facilitating use of a financial transaction device in a cashless wagering system in a gaming system, and Nevada State Court directed to a breach of contract claims.”
In recent months, there have been a number of disputes between IGT and Acres, including most recently towards the end of 2023, when Acres Manufacturing and its Foundation casino management system (CMS) won in a patent case began by IGT in 2021 over assertions of infringement.
Though an agreement has been agreed between the two companies regarding the legal disputes, it is not yet known yet what the terms of the settlement are.
IGT COO Gaming Nick Khin said: "IGT is pleased to reach a mutual agreement with Acres that resolves all disputes between us. This allows us to dedicate our collective resources where they are better served, driving continued innovation in the exciting and evolving cashless gaming space.”
Acres CEO John Acres added: "We are thrilled to put this matter behind us and work cooperatively with IGT to build exciting new gambling experiences that can increase both player enjoyment and casino profits."
