Parx Casino Shippensburg To Launch Live Table Games
Parx Casino Shippensburg has been the only casino in Pennsylvania without traditional table games, but that will soon change now that the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) held test days for traditional table games at the casino on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Parx Casino Shippensburg To Have Soft Opening
A soft opening of the table games is scheduled for Friday, pending final approval from the PGCB. The casino will celebrate the full launch of table games with a grand opening weekend beginning Feb. 6.
The new casino floor layout will include 12 tables with a total of 72 seats. Table games will include Blackjack, Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Three Card Poker.

All table games revenue generated during the test period, from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, will directly support Branch Creek Place, a senior center in Shippensburg.
“This expansion not only adds more excitement for our guests, but it also strengthens our support for the local economy,” John Marshall, general manager of Parx Casino Shippensburg, told PennLive.
“We’re creating new jobs, generating additional revenue for the Commonwealth, and continuing to invest in the long-term success of Shippensburg and Cumberland County.”
PGCB Approved Petition For Traditional Table Games
In November, the PGCB approved the petition by Parx Casino Shippensburg to add traditional table games for the first time. The establihsment is now in its fourth year of operation after Parx Casino Shippensburg opened its doors in Cumberland County on Jan. 26, 2023.
Parx Casino Shippensburg is owned and operated by Greenwood Racing. The 73,000-square-foot casino features 500 slot machines, a Jax Bar with video poker, pool tables, and sports betting kiosks.
The facility opened in the Keystone State as the fourth Category 4 casino, also known as mini casino. A Category 4 license is awarded to smaller brick-and-mortar establishments.
Parx Casino Shippensburg is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
