This is the third CFO position Barber has held during her career.

NorthStar Gaming has named Jennifer Barber as its new Chief Financial Officer. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the Canadian company’s financial reporting and management as it seeks to boost operations.

She will also assist with NorthStar Bets, the company’s online and retail sportsbooks that recently went live within the Ontario commercial market.

NorthStar Gaming Founder and CEO Michael Moskowitz took a moment to comment about Barber’s promotion.

He said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Jennifer to NorthStar Gaming. She is a skilled financial leader who brings decades of financial management experience to our growing leadership team.

“Jennifer’s wealth of financial management and reporting expertise is tremendously valuable to us as we rapidly scale our operations.”

Barber holds a designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant. She spent ten years working for the Torstar Corporation after joining the company in 2012, where she also served as the company’s CFO. While with Torstar, Barber served in the roles of CFO for Torstar Community and Daily News Brands, as well as Senior Vice President of Finance.

She held a CFO position and was the Corporate Secretary for Hydrogenics, a company manufactures on-site hydrogen generators and power systems.

Hydrogenics is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) as well as on the Nasdaq.

NorthStar Gaming recently partnered with Torstar Corporation in an omnichannel advertising and marketing services arrangement.

As part of the deal, NorthStar Bets provides sports betting and wagering content for Torstar’s online readership. Players have access to games as well as sports betting content on Torstar’s website through the NorthStar Bets platform.
