Wikström and Yerlin “recognized the urgent need to provide technical hosting solutions for the iGaming industry,” which led to co-founding the company in 2008. Internet Vikings enjoyed instant success during its formative years, largely in due to extensive research and marketing analytics. As part of its growth strategy, the company decided to center the gaming industry as its key market, leading to significant growth during its first decade.
The company reported a 40 million Swedish kroner sales volume in 2018. By 2019, the group made two strategic deals that included the acquisition of the SEO content provider Costa PBN and an agreement with Green Jade Games to represent the brand as its hosting provider.
During early 2020, the company continued to expand its staff and opened a new office in Malta prior to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. The group recruited Stefan Backlund to join its Board of Directors. Backlund had previously worked with key company leaders and is known throughout the industry as a B2B marketing expert.
Internet Vikings finished 2020 on a positive note with several product launches, which included Backlink API and Managed Brand Protection.
The group current has data centers on every continent and employs more than 50 key personnel in Sweden, Malta, the United States, Ukraine, and South Africa.
